There are two types of EDI Processes
based on the direction:
-
Inbound Processes, which receive a flat file
from a Trading Partner and load the information to the Business
Databases.
-
Outbound Processes, which generate a flat
file based on the data obtained from the Databases.
The EDI Processes are triggered
by a Scheduler.
The EDI Control Database manages
the connections to the Business Databases, based on the Principal.
Depending on the requirements,
the flat file should be processed by a 3P Translator.
AMS
There are two processes implemented
to establish communications with AMS:
-
AMS Send, which sends the Original
Manifest, Amendments, IT Arrivals, Vessel Arrivals, BL Arrivals,
Container Arrivals, G.O. and Permit to Transfer information.
-
AMS Receive, which receives
and processes U.S. Customs Responses.
Batch Processes
Each batch process has its own
behavior. They may send information to a trading partner or
not.
